💡 Here’s my idiot’s guide to Wales - not a guide for idiots, a guide by an idiot!

Treasures
- Welsh cakes - must in Wales, unfortunately my mother makes the best ones from my grandmothers receipe so it’s unlikely you’ll get to eat the best, but they are all worth a try
- **Cockles & lava bread** - very popular in the South - if you like seafood give it a go - not one for me
- **In the Welsh wind** - make your own gin custom to your tastes - really good experience if you like gin - you tailor your own and walk away with a bottle of it
South Wales
Cardiff
Capital city of Wales
Great place to shop, a lovely castle and some cracking places to eat & drink

Grazing Shed burger
- Places in and around the city centre
-
Cardiff caste [map] - a castle in the centre of the city
-
Cardiff shopping - start at St Davids 2 [map] and work your way outwards St Davids is the best and cheapest parking too
-
Castell Coch [map] - Fairytale castle - outside the city near just off the M4
Barry
Home of Gavin & Stacey - tbh, not really worth a visit, but a seaside town you might be interested in [map]
Caerphilly castle
Possibly the best castle around south Wales [map]
Brecon Beacons
- Pen y fan - there are 4 ways up, if you are up for a 3 hour walk I highly recommend skipping the 1.5 hour route from the main road that everyone else does, the other routes are quieter, have much better views and you aren’t just walking up and down some steps
